Chartres Labyrinth: printed from a relief block in combination with letterpress wood type. Inked and printed traditionally by hand at Atelier Desmyter with oil-based ink on a 19th century iron handpress on cream coloured Arches paper. Open edition. Paper size 51 cm x 42 cm (20 inch x 16 1/2 inch), labyrinth block size 36 cm x 36 cm (14 1/4 inch x 14 1/4 inch).
After the most famous Medieval labyrinth (symbolizing the long winding path towards salvation) on the floor in the Chartres Cathedral in France.
